New guidelines for testing lead in children
With national concerns about lead testing in children under-reporting levels, new guidelines have been released for the testing.
Lead levels in children have decreased over the years, but doctors are still working to push the numbers down even further.
The new guidelines have been implemented to make the testing better and to make sure the samples aren't under diagnosed or over diagnosed.
Dr. Elizabeth Murray from the American Academy of Pediatrics joined us on Good Day Rochester with those guidelines.
She tells us that the Rochester area has been very advanced in investigating lead in children.
