Employees in New York state will be eligible for paid family believe beginning Jan. 1.
It will provided job-protected paid leave time for employees who need to care for a family member based on qualifying events or circumstances.
Employees will be able to take up to eight weeks off in 2018, with the number increasing to 10 in 2019 and 2020. The program will be fully implemented in 2021, when workers will be able to take two-thirds of their weekly salary for up to 12 weeks off.
