Blood drive honors Fairport's Angels

A blood drive in memory of Hannah Congdon, Katie Shirley, Meredith McClure, Bailey Goodman and Sara Monnat will be held Thursday at St. John of Rochester Church.

The memories of five teenagers killed in a car crash just a few days after their graduation from Fairport High School live on, 10 years later.

The Remembering the Fairport Angels Blood Drive will be held this week in memory of Hannah Congdon, Bailey Goodman, Meredith McClure, Sara Monnat and Katie Shirley. It's happening Thursday from 1-7 p.m. at St. John of Rochester Church in Perinton. You can make an appointment to donate by calling 1-800-REDCROSS or by visiting and use sponsor code stjohnofrochesterfairport.

Interested donors who can't attend are still encouraged to donate at any other Red Cross location in the U.S. Click here for more information.

Katie Shirley's mother, Stephanie, joined us on Good Day Rochester this morning, along with Patty Corvaia from the American Red Cross, to explain how you can help, even you're out of the area or can't make it to the blood drive Thursday.
