Borinquen Dance Theatre presets 'Awaken & Arise'

Borinquen Dance Theatre's performance of Awaken & Arise is coming up Saturday night in Rochester.

The theme was inspired by the dancers' need to express a call to action after frustration about the response to Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria last September.

The show is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Hochstein School of Music & Dance.

We learned more about the show and got a sneak peek this morning on Good Day Rochester, joined by Borinquen Dance Theatre founder and artistic director Nydia Padilla-Rodríguez, event chair Megan Mills and dancer Cassandra Lopez.
