Event this week connects local veterans with essential services
Monroe County and the Veterans Outreach Center are teaming up for an event this week to help veterans in need find housing, health care, legal assistance, food sources and other services.
Veterans Stand Down is happening Wednesday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Harro East Ballroom.
Any veterans in need of transportation to the event can call 753-6040. Veterans are encouraged to bring their DD 214 (military discharge) papers.
Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo joined us on Good Day Rochester, along with Laura Stradley, executive director of the Veterans Outreach Center, to explain more about what's happening at the event.
