Local version of "March for Science" this weekend

Stephanie Gallant explains what's happening at Saturday's March for Science and what the group is hoping to accomplish.

A march happening in Downtown Rochester this weekend aims to get more people, especially political leaders, more invested in science.

The Rochester March for Science is run by a nonpartisan group calling for "robustly funded and publicly communicated science" and for policy makers to "enact responsible evidence-based policies in the public interest."

A rally with several speakers is starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park at Manhattan Square. The group will then begin marching toward the Hyatt Regency at 10:30.

Stephanie Gallant, a spokeswoman for the group, joined us on Good Day Rochester to explain more about the group's mission and what's happening at the rally and march.
