Ninth annual 'Scare Brain Cancer Away' 5K
On Saturday, October 14, there will be a 5K run/walk through the village of East Rochester, with funds benefiting someone who is suffering from brain cancer.
That someone is Tonya Crykin, a wife, mother, and Xerox employee who was diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2012 and since her condition has gotten worse, with the cancer now attacking her spine.
In 2016, she had part of her spine removed. She is now working with occupational and physical therapists.
Because of her determination to live a normal life with her family, she has been called a "rock star" by the doctors and specialists that she works with.
We were happy to have Tonya join us this morning on Good Day Rochester.
