Bronze bear statue going back up in Geneseo

Emmeline the bear sits in a truck as crews prepare to return the bronze statue to its fountain on Main Street in Geneseo.

Geneseo, N.Y. -- The famous bear statue on Main Street is returning to the heart of the village.

Dozens lined up Wednesday morning to watch Emmeline the bear's return.

The bear has sat atop the fountain in the center of town since 1888 but was damaged when a truck crashed into the fountain in April 2016.

Amy Hudak visited Geneseo on Good Day Rochester to show us the first step's toward putting the bear back in its rightful place.
