Local woman creating beautiful jewelry out of recycled hard drives
Amanda Preske has a PhD in chemistry, but the lab she is working out of now doesn't have any beakers or test tubes. Rather, at Circuit Breaker Labs, you'll find old hard drives, other computer parts and a CNC machine.
For about 10 years now, the RIT and University of Rochester grad has been taking recycled circuit boards and turning them into one-of-a-kind, handmade necklaces, earrings, cuff links and so much more.
Ashley Doerzbacher spent the morning with Preske in the lab to see how it's all done.
