'Wild Wings' helps care for birds of prey
Mendon, N.Y. -- A local organization is taking in injured birds that are unable to survive on their own.
Wild Wings at Mendon Ponds Park is a non-profit group that houses and cares for permanently injured birds of prey. The birds are on display to the public, and volunteers also take them around to schools and other groups so the public can learn about them.
Wild Wings is open Friday through Tuesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Admission is free, but the group accepts donations with all proceeds going to the birds. There's also a silent auction Friday from 5:30-8 p.m. at Locust Hill Country Club to raise money for the organization. Ashley Doerzbacher visited Wild Wings this morning to learn more about the birds and the organization as a whole.
