800 families provided with food, essentials by Feed The Children
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Hundreds of local families in need are getting a helping hand Tuesday.
Price Rite partnered with Feed The Children and Tyson, along with Catholic Family Center, to provide food and essentials to 800 families in the Rochester area.
Each family was given a 25-lb. box of food, along with personal care items and children's books.
"Rochester is the 15th most desperate city in the U.S.," said Joe Allergo, director of Corporate Partnerships for Feed The Children. "33 percent of this city actually lives below the poverty line. These families deserve the dignity and respect we're going to provide for them today."
Families were given a variety of produce and shelf-stable items from PriceRite.
More than 40,000 pounds of food and essentials is being distributed to local families.
