Benefit held to help restaurant hit by lightning strike
Canandaigua N.Y. - Fans of one popular restaurant rallied Sunday for the restaurant's employees who've been temporarily left without a job.
Lightning struck the Charlie Riedel's restaurant in Canandaigua two weeks ago.
It led to a fire which caused extensive damage and closed down the restaurant.
Organizers say that the benefit was held to help a restaurant that's helped so many other non-profits and causes over the years.
"This is a good community we all take care of each other. That's the best part of Canandaigua. everybody looks out for everybody else, we don't want to let anybody go without in this community" said Jamie Hartwell who is a co-organizer of the fundraiser.
The owner of Charlie's says the restaurant will be up and running again in two to three weeks.
