Deputies: York man stole handgun from home, sold it in Rochester

YORK, N.Y. (WHAM) - A York man was arrested Tuesday after deputies say he sold a gun in Rochester.

On Sunday, a woman called the Livingston County Sheriff's Office to report her .22 caliber handgun had been stolen.

Investigators say Joseph Cuozzo III, 25, stole the loaded handgun from the home while the homeowners were away, then sold it on the streets of Rochester.

The gun still has not been recovered. A file was entered on the stolen gun and officer safety bulletin issued.

Cuozzo was charged with multiple felonies, including grand larceny 4th, criminal possession of a weapon 2nd, and criminal sale of a firearm 3rd.

Cuozzo was arraigned on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond and remanded to the Livingston County Jail.
