Albany, N.Y. (WHAM) - Ridesharing service Lyft will be coming to upstate New York cities, including Rochester, starting June 29.

People interesting in driving for Lyft can register online and at upcoming job fairs.

According to Lyft, driver recruitment events are scheduled in Buffalo June 9-14. Events in Rochester will be announced at a date TBD.

Lyft is also negotiating airport agreements with the Greater Rochester International Airport, as well as airports in Buffalo and Syracuse to work with them.

“Lyft is going to help me make extra money during the day when my kids are at school. And if my kids are off or home sick one day, I can just stay home – I work on my own schedule when I want to. No other job can offer me that freedom.” Lyn Allen, a mother of four in Western New York.
