Coxsackie, N.Y. (WHAM) - A man convicted of murdering a Greece woman in 1993 was denied parole this month.

Leroy Anderson was eligible for parole this month and went before a NYSDOCCS parole board.

Anderson was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of Michelle Lentine Forte. Lentine Forte was found stabbed 20 times; Anderson is serving the maximum sentence of 25 years to life.

Anderson was on parole for robbery at the time of the murder. He was also suspected in the murder of an elderly woman who was beaten to death, and her apartment set on fire. Police could never develop enough evidence for an arrest and conviction.

According to the NYSDOCCS website, Anderson is scheduled for another parole hearing in November 2019.
