DANSVILLE, N.Y. (WHAM) - A Dansville man was arrested on felony charges Thursday after deputies said he faked receipts to pull in more money.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, investigators were called by an auto parts store in the village of Dansville.

Deputies said the complaint accused 39-year-old Carlos Arriaga of stealing money from the store by submitting faked receipts to cover up payment from his own expenses while he worked at the store.

Investigators said between August 2016 and this month, Arriaga would give his employer with duplicate gas receipts from the same purchase and collect double the reimbursement for the gas purchase. It is alleged that Arriaga collected well over $1,000 that he was not entitled to receive.

Arriaga was charged with felony grand larceny 4th and felony falsifying business records 1st. He was then arraigned and remanded to the Livingston County Jail on $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

More charges are possible.
