UPDATE: Man shot outside Canandaigua restaurant
Canandaigua, N.Y. - Members of law enforcement swarmed the area near a restaurant in Canandaigua late Saturday night following a shooting.
Chief Stephen Hedworth said a man was shot at least twice in the upper body and lower leg, near or inside his car in the parking lot of The Villager on South Main Street.
He suffered what appears to be non-life threatening injuries, according to Chief Hedworth.
A woman who was collecting money for a live music event at the restaurant said the victim came stumbling in, bleeding heavily, and pleading for help.
Police say persons of interest were questioned; however no suspects are in custody at this time.
There was a musical event being held at the V-Pub during the time of the incident. Police are asking anyone who attended the event, or anyone who was in the area of the parking lot during the time of the shooting, to please call the Canandaigua City Police Department at (585) 394-3311 or (585) 394-4560.
The investigation is on-going.
