A local non-profit is asking for the public's help locating a suspect or suspects responsible for the theft of $10,000 worth of equipment over the holiday weekend.

John Crabtree, president of Reno BattleBorn BMX Track in Sun Valley, returned to the outdoor facility the Tuesday after Christmas only to find broken locks and most of the non-profit's equipment gone.

Crabtree told News 4-Fox 11 that loaner bikes, clothing, gear and a quad were among the items taken.

Reno BattleBorn BMX Track provides kids in need with the ability to borrow bikes for use at their facility, says Crabtree.

Those looking to help the volunteers can attend a four-hour work party on Saturday, December 30, at 115 W. 6th Street in Sun Valley starting at 9 a.m.

Anyone who has additional information regarding this case is asked to contact the Washoe County Sheriff's Office at 775-785-9276.
