Jarron Jones has his day at the NFL Combine
Jarron Jones had his moment in the sun in Indianapolis, going through drill after drill for all 32 NFL teams.
Jones ran the 40-yard dash in a time of 5.34 seconds on his second try, improving on his first run of 5.43 seconds.
He struggled in his vertical jump, which would suggest he isn't at 100% health. Jones' 20.5 inches was last among defensive lineman. He suggested to Mike Catalana on Wednesday that he was still dealing with a lingering knee injury.
Jones flashed real NFL ability during his time at Notre Dame, but struggled with injuries during much of his time with the Irish. But when he played well, he jumped off of the screen. Jones had one of the best defensive efforts of the season this year against Miami, earning himself national defensive player of the week honors.
As of right now, Jones is projected as a middle-round pick to a team looking for a 3-4 defensive lineman. He will hold his pro-day at Notre Dame on March 23.
