Aquinas grad Jones getting ready for change with Giants

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Former Aquinas and Notre Dame standout Jarron Jones looks like he will be changing positions this fall.

Jones, who signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent back in April, signed as a defensive lineman. During his time at Notre Dame, Jones played as a defensive tackle.

This year, the Giants appear to want him to switch over to offensive tackle.

Until he heads out to training camp, Jones is working out here at home. He says he is getting physically and mentally ready for the change.

"Now that I've played defense, I know how defenses are run," Jones said. "I also played on a defensive line, so the guys I'm blocking, I know the moves they like to do. So I guess from an intellectual standpoint, my game has grown the most. I now know the Giants' defensive and offensive playbook all in one. I feel like I can just truly add some value to myself from that, because I can be a versatile player."

Jones leaves for camp next week.
