Buffalo's first trip to the playoffs since the 1999 season lasted only a week.

The Bills offense failed to get in the end zone against one of the NFL's best defenses and the result is a 10-3, season-ending loss in Jacksonville.

The Jaguars got little going on offense themselves, but did put together one long drive in the third quarter. It ended with quarterback Blake Bortles completing a play-action pass on 4th and 1 to Ben Koyack for a touchdown.

The Bills had a long drive of their own in the second quarter and a first and goal at the one yard line. But Buffalo threw the ball to Kelvin Benjamin instead of running it with Lesean McCoy. Benjamin was called for a ten yard pass interference penalty and the drive ended with a field goal.

Buffalo's defense did its job, holding Jacksonville to less than 250 yards of total offense and Bortles to 87 yards passing. But the Jags quarterback had nine carries for 88 yards, many of those carries coming in crucial moments and keeping drives alive.

Lesean McCoy was active for Buffalo and surprisingly effective given his ankle injury. He had 19 carries for 75 yards and led the team with six catches for 44 yards.

But quarterback Tyrod Taylor struggled mightily, especially in the second half. He finished what could be his last game in Buffalo 17-38 for 134 yards and an interception. He also had 7 carries for 27 yards.

But Taylor's game would end early. On third and five and in comeback mode, Taylor was tackled and his head slammed to the turf. His day was over.

Nate Peterman came in and picked up the first down on a scramble, then immediately completed a pass to Deonte Thompson. But after an intentional grounding, Peterman was intercepted by Jalen Ramsey to end the game.

The Bills finished their first season under Sean McDermott 9-8 (including playoffs) and ended an 18 year postseason drought.
