Police: Rochester man killed in Herkimer County industrial accident

A Rochester man was killed in an industrial accident in Herkimer County on Saturday morning, according to New York State Police.

Troopers say just before 9:30 a.m. 53-year-old John J. Sedita was unloading bundles of fence using a forklift from a flatbed trailer at Cook Fence Company. As he unloaded from one side of the truck, state police say another bundle fell off the other side of the trailer and onto Sedita.

He was rushed to St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Utica, NY where he later succumbed to his injuries.

State police are continuing to investigate this incident.
