Game of Thrones fans celebrate last weekend of pop-up bar, gear up for finale
Hundreds of fans wrapped around 7th street in Northwest on Friday, for the Game of Thrones pop-up bar.
Some waited for several hours.
“We’ve been waiting for about four hours,” said Khoa Lee.
“I have about three hours,” said Bethany Waterfall.
“It was worth the wait,” said Garrett Garberich.
Between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., 280 people visited the bar.
When they got inside, fans were greeted with a theme fit for a movie set, with decked out cups, a hall of faces, dragons and an iron throne fit for a king or queen.
“I took (photos) on the iron throne, then I took some at the tree,” said Garberich.
People came from across the country, from California to Miami.
“This was a must,” said Gianni Paderni, who visited from Miami.
With the season finale quickly approaching, much of the chatter over drinks was about predictions.
“What are you looking forward to about the season finale? Asked ABC7’s Anna-Lysa Gayle.
“Ice dragons,” responded Chris Benoit.
“I’m looking forward to John and Danny getting together,” said Bethany Waterfall.
The line is expected to be even longer during the weekend.
The bar opens from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, which is the final day for the theme inside the bar.
