Abby Wambach advocating for safe soccer fields in retirement

Abby Wambach joined us live from Fort Myers, Florida to discuss what she's doing now that her soccer playing career is over.

Pittsford native Abby Wambach is retired from playing soccer, but she's still keeping busy with the game.

Even before she retired, she was an advocate for safe playing fields, specifically pushing for more natural glass playing fields rather than artificial turf ones.

She joined us on Good Day Rochester to explain what she's up to in her post-playing career. She also had a message for Chloe DeLyser, the Marion High School soccer player who recently passed Wambach on the all-time list of goal scorers in Section V girls soccer history.

Abby Wambach is speaking Oct. 21 at SUNY Brockport. Click here for ticket information.
