Canstruction moves to new site for 10th year

Canstruction opens to the public Sunday at Tower280.

Rochester's annual Canstruction design-build competition is back for its 10th year, and it's moving to a new location.

The event, sponsored by Buckingham Properties, features sculptures made from canned food, which is donated to Foodlink once the competition ends.

Build Day is coming up Saturday at Tower280 at Midtown. The sculptures open to the public Sunday, with awards scheduled for May 25 and 'de-canstruction' scheduled for June 3.

This year's theme is "Fantasy & Fairy Tales." Amy Olds, Canstruction marketing director, and Mark Dwyer, Foodlink's communications director, joined us to talk more about what to expect at this year's event and how it helps fight hunger in the Rochester area.
