While aging is a natural process that should be embraced, it can also be managed in order to prevent age-related disease. In order to delay the process of aging, we can do things like eat well and exercise, but an often overlooked aspect of health is maintaining hormonal balance.
Around the age of 30, hormones begin to decrease in men and fluctuate in women, which can result in decreased energy and libido, weight gain, cognitive decline, and a loss of sleep. However, physicians who specialize in age-management can examine blood work to determine which hormones are low and work to balance them out.
Happier at Home's Deb Marcello tells us more about this process and the effect hormones have on aging this morning on Good Day Rochester.
