New airport technology to help those with hearing loss

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced yesterday that the airport received nearly 40 million dollars in state aid for renovation.

(FOX Rochester) Over the years, airports have made flying easier and more accessible for everyone, especially those dealing with a handicap.

This past summer, the head of the airport was honored by the Hearing Loss Association of America-Rochester Chapter.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced yesterday that the airport received nearly 40 million dollars in state aid for renovation.

Upgrades include more security and TSA lines, more shopping and restaurants, added charging ports, a new façade, a solar canopy over the skyway and a play area.

Jennifer Johnson was at the airport Thursday previewing new technology that helps those with hearing loss to go along with the new upgrades.
