Local gluten-free kids camp enters fourth year

Sabrina DeVos founded the camp in 2014. She joined us along with two campers this morning on Good Day Rochester.

A summer camp in Livingston County aims to bring together kids from all over the East Coast who have special dietary needs.

Celiac Strong Camp is now in its fourth year. Sabrina DeVos, now 19, founded the volunteer-run camp in 2014. It's targeted toward all kids age 7-16 who have celiac disease or a gluten-free diet. The camp adheres to a strict gluten-free diet and allows kids to play games, swim, do crafts and enjoy gluten-free treats.

The camp moves to its new location at Camp Cherith in Livingston County this year, and runs Aug. 9-12. Sabrina joined us this morning on Good Day Rochester, along with campers Isabelle and Mayli Nitsch, to talk more about what happens at camp and why it's so important to the families who take part.
