Pancreatic cancer walk coming up this weekend

The annual Pancreatic Cancer Association walk is coming up Saturday afternoon at RIT's Gordon Field House.

Pancreatic cancer is known to be one of the most difficult types of cancer to detect and treat. In fact, it has the worst mortality rate of all major cancers, with an 8 percent five-year survival rate.

The Pancreatic Cancer Assocation of Western New York is working to help in the fight. Its annual fundraising walk is coming up Saturday from noon-4 p.m. at RIT's Gordon Field House.

Michael Crumb is part of a small percentage of people who survived pancreatic cancer. He's the honorary chair for this year's walk. He joined us to share his story, along with Pancreatic Cancer Assoication Executive Director Mary Ellen Smith, to talk about what's happening at this year's walk.
