RIT develops app for domestic violence victims
Primary-care practices in the Rochester area are pilot testing an app that screens patients for domestic violence, in the privacy of their doctor's office.
Researchers and advocates from RIT, the University of Rochester Medical Center and RESOLVE of Greater Rochester developed the software program.
It uses an avatar named Rita to assess a patient's mental health and physical safety.
RESOLVE CEO Allison O'Malley and RIT Prof. Nicole Trabold joined us on Good Day Rochester to explain more about the app.
