A local nonprofit that supports adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, 13thirty Cancer Connect, is partnering with Monroe County and the City of Rochester, along with Rochester Regional Health System and UR Medical Center to recognize April as AYA Cancer Awareness Month
13thirty Cancer Connects' mission is to help adolescents and young adults with cancer live their very best lives through a variety of wellness, expressive arts, and social programs all designed to meet the unique challenges facing this special group of cancer patients.
13thirty Cancer Connect Executive Director and founder Lauren Spiker and Rochester Center Manager Stephen Esposito joined Good Day Rochester to discuss how they're raising awareness for the challenges that young cancer survivors face and how the community is coming together to support the initiative.
