Rochester police growing 'Beards for Bucks' this month

Capt. Anthony McMullen survived his own cancer battle. Now he's among the officers growing a beard this month to help kids, teens and young adults battling cancer.

The Rochester Police Department is making an exception to the rules for its officers this month.

Normally, they're not allowed to have beards while in uniform. But the rules are being relaxed in honor of No-Shave November.

Officers taking part in the Beards for Bucks program are growing beards to raise money for kids, teens and young adults battling cancer.

Captain Anthony McMullen, a cancer survivor himself, joined us on Good Day Rochester to explain what's happening and why it's such an important cause for the department.
