Saxophonist James Carter plays with Eastman students

Saxophonist James Carter visited Good Day Rochester ahead of performance with Eastman Wind Ensemble.

Renowned jazz saxophonist James Carter played this week with the Eastman Wind Ensemble - for a free concert combining his jazz style with a traditionally classic group.

The piece was written for an orchestra/classic group to play, with sections assigned for jazz improvisation and more “swing”.

Carter himself came by Good Day Rochester ahead of the Monday night performance.
