Smartphone use linked to teen depression, suicide

One expert believes says this generation is on the verge of the worst mental health crisis in decades, and now a connection is being made between it and smartphone use.

Following last night's 13WHAM special report by Ginny Ryan, in which one expert linked smartphone use to depression and even suicide among teenagers, we continued the conversation on Good Day Rochester this morning.

We talked to Gwendolyn Olton, senior consultant for training and practice transformation at Coordinated Care Services, Inc. about the potential crisis and how parents can take action now to prevent it.
