ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Therapeutic Recreation team at St. John's Home is always working to make sure the needs of their residents are met.

Tracy Koflanovich, head of the Theraputic Recreation team, organizes engaging activities for the residents at St. John's Home, most of whom have some level of dementia.

Koflanovich is constantly coming up with unique ideas to keep people engaged and enjoying life to every degree possible.

In November, she organized a celebration of 100 years of women's suffrage, complete with costumes reflective of the time and a trio of reenactors. She has created everything from fashion shows to obstacle courses for residents, and all of them are well-received by residents, family members and staff alike.

Koflanovich and Theraputic Specialist Ed Keegan stopped by Good Day Rochester on Christmas to talk about the importance of keeping people engaged and how it can make a difference in their lives.
