Turning back time at Genesee Country Village this summer

You can see 1860s-era vintage base ball at the Genesee Country Village & Museum next weekend. Among the many strange rules from the time, players didn't wear mitts and foul balls don't count as strikes.

Wheatland, N.Y. -- The Genesee Country Village & Museum has a busy slate of summer events and exhibits on tap.

It starts this weekend, with a Civil War reenactment happening Saturday and Sunday.

Vintage base ball is coming up next weekend, taking us back to a time when baseball was two words and players didn't wear mitts.

We got a preview of those events this morning, along with a look inside Victoria's Closet and fashions of the 1840s, and a preview of an exhibit celebrating the relationship between humans and dogs.
