Video game design pioneer makes donation to Strong Museum

Carol Shaw's work on display at the International Center for Electronic Games inside the Strong Museum

Rochester, N.Y. -- Carol Shaw is the first widely recognized female game designer and programmer.

Her legacy is being preserved at the Strong Museum, after she donated a collection of console games, design documents, sketches and more from her career.

They will be on display at the museum's International Center for Electronic Games when the Women Games Initiative opens next year. The museum is still collecting for the exhibit. If you have any items, or know of someone who might, contact curator Shannon Symonds:
