Deputies: Tractor trailer driver had heroin, needles during Rt. 390 crash
Geneseo, N.Y. (WHAM) - A truck driver from Virginia was arrested Wednesday after deputies say he crashed his rig while high.
Livingston County Sheriff's deputies said they were called to Rt. 390 in Geneseo around 3:30 a.m. for a tractor trailer that had flipped over.
The driver, 56-year-old Robert Shenk, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries after the crash.
Shenk was found to have heroin, hypodermic needles, and other drug paraphernalia on him, according to deputies. When deputies interviewed him as part of the investigation, Shenk was determined to be under the influence of a drug.
After being released from the hospital, Shenk was charged with DWAI-drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and several other vehicle and traffic violations.
He was remanded to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond.
