Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Former President Bill Clinton will be attending the funeral service for Rep. Louise Slaughter in Rochester on Friday.

Representatives from the late Congresswoman's office confirmed the news Thursday afternoon. They also said they anticipate 40 or more members of Congress coming to the funeral service via military flights.

The U.S. Air Force is in charge of the flights.

The 42nd president of the United States will be joined by his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, as well as House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Georgia Congressman John Lewis. Hillary Clinton, Pelosi and Lewis will be among the speakers at the funeral.

The service on Friday is scheduled to be held at Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester.

The 88-year-old Democrat died last Friday at a Washington hospital after falling at her home the previous week.

Slaughter represented parts of western New York for 31 years and was the first woman to chair the House Rules Committee. She was her party's top member on the panel when she died.
