Witnesses: Explosions heard before Manchester house caught fire

Manchester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Fire crews are on the scene after witnesses say a house exploded in Manchester Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses said they heard an explosion around 12:30 p.m. at a home along Rt. 31 near Hanley Road.

Neighbors described hearing explosions and seeing thick black smoke with the smell of tires burning.

At least two families lived at the house, but no one was home as it burned.

Fire investigators said one dog died in the home.
