Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - The return of cold air will also be accompanied by the return of lake effect snow to WNY tonight and Friday.
Lake effect snow warnings and advisories have been issued for portions of WNY through early Saturday morning. Here’s the current rundown of all active warnings and advisories:
Wyoming County: Lake snow warning from 4 PM Thursday through 10 PM Friday
Wayne County: Lake snow warning from 1 AM Friday through 4 AM Saturday
Monroe County: Lake snow advisory from 1 AM Friday through 4 AM Saturday
Orleans County: Lake snow advisory from 1 AM Friday through 4 AM Saturday
Snow amounts will vary greatly in lake snow as they always do, but this afternoon will bring less than a couple inches of accumulation for the areas impacted by lake effect snow bands.
Once again tonight, there will be the potential of up to a couple inches of accumulation. As the snow may linger a little longer into Wayne County, some towns there could see another 2-4 inches of snow tonight before it tapers.
