Police: Woman stole $3,000 in student funds from Dundee schools

Dundee, N.Y. (WHAM) - A woman from Canandaigua has been indicted on felony charges for stealing thousands of dollars from the Dundee Central School District.

After a two-year investigation, a grand jury in Yates County indicted 44-year-old Amy Corron on third-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud charges.

Between September 2015 and December 2016, Corron is accused of stealing more than $3,000 in student funds.

Corron was arraigned in Yates County Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.

Dundee School Superintendent Kelly Houck said Corron was a 7-12 English teacher at the Jr.-Sr. High School. She resigned from her position at Dundee Central School in January 2017.

" We intend to take all steps necessary to respect Ms. Corron’s rights while, at the same time, taking all prudent steps necessary to ensure the welfare of the school community," Houck said in a statement.
