Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) – A driver who police say was behind the wheel in a fatal crash last month at Norton Street and Hudson Avenue pleaded not guilty to multiple charges levied by a grand jury.
Mary Singhavong, 32, was charged after the February 2 crash that killed Eric Jones of Greece.
Singhavong has been indicted by a grand jury on three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter, three counts of aggravated vehicular assault, second degree assault, DWI, DWAI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
On Tuesday, Singhavong pleaded not guilty to all 11 counts against her.
Police say Singhavong ran a red light at the intersection of Hudson and Norton, hitting Jones’ vehicle and then crashing into two others stopped at the intersection.
Jones was a Lyft driver who police say was on a fare at the time of the crash.
Singhavong and a passenger in her vehicle both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The Monroe County District Attorney's Office said Singahavong is scheduled to return to court on April 8. A tentative trial date is set for August 19.
