Aquinas, Hornell, Cal-Mum/Byron Bergen and Clyde-Savannah take Section V football crowns
Wilson got things started on Friday with the program's first football title, beating previously unbeaten Irondequoit 40-19.
Four more teams kept the party going on Saturday.
Aquinas, Hornell, Cal-Mum/Byron Bergen and Clyde-Savannah all took home Section V championships in thrilling contests, extending their seasons into the far west regionals against assorted champions from Section VI next week.
The Aquinas Lil' Irish missed the playoffs completely last year, and then lost their first game of the season.
They haven't lost since.
Aquinas won its 10th Section V football championship in the last 12 years with a 20-14 win over Pittsford. It marked the ninth straight win for Aquinas since that opening loss to Victor.

Hornell was once a powerhouse, going unbeaten for nearly four straight years from the late 2000's to early 2010's
But the Red Raiders most certainly are back.
Hornell completed an unbeaten season and run through the Section V playoffs with a 22-20 win over Livonia.

Cal-Mum/Byron-Bergen needed to get hot at the end of the year just to make the playoffs.
Now, the Raiders are the only class C team standing, coming from 13 down in the fourth quarter to defeat top seed ER/Gananda 27-26.

Clyde-Savannah always feels like the favorite to win a Section V championship.
On Saturday, they finally got it done, winning their second title as a combined program, and first since 2013.
